How do customers see warranty options?
Customers see warranty options across your product pages, cart, and checkout, depending on how you've configured Umbrella. There are two main types of widgets:
- On Product Pages:
- OEM Warranty Widget shows when a product includes built-in coverage. It’s informational only and includes a “Learn More” link to view full terms.
Extended Warranty Widget displays selectable coverage options. When a customer selects one, the warranty is automatically added to the cart along with the product.
On Cart Page:
- Protected products display a widget summarizing the coverage with a “Learn More” modal.
- Unprotected products show a widget allowing customers to add coverage directly from the cart without restarting the checkout process.
All widgets and modals can be toggled on or off based on your preferences, giving you full control over where and how warranty information is displayed throughout the purchase flow.
